Uriel E. Arauz embarked on his Capoeira journey in 1996, guided by the esteemed Mestre Preguiça within the
Omulu Capoeira Group. Over the past 15 years, he has wholeheartedly embraced this Afro-Brazilian martial art.
As an active participant in the Omulu Capoeira Group, Uriel has contributed significantly to its vibrant community. His involvement spans captivating performances, community programs, and empowering workshops for inner-city youth across the Bay Area.
Capoeira to Uriel, is more than just a physical practice—it's a powerful tool for fostering health, cultural awareness, and diversity. Through afterschool programs, festivals, and collaborations with park and recreation centers, he enriches communities with the rhythm, grace, and spirit of Capoeira.
